Congratulations to
Dale L. Treloar!


In partnership with the Veterans Coordination Commission, we are pleased to present the March, 2007 Veteran of the Month Recognition to Dale L. Treloar.

Dale Treloar is originally from Ogden, Iowa and entered the United States Air Force January 1, 1950. He began his service at Lackland AFB, Texas and ended at Ellsworth AFB twenty-six years later. Early in his military career, Dale was trained in the traffic management and later into transportation where he became 1st Sergeant of the Transportation Squadron. In 1970, Sgt. Treloar was sent to Vietnam and received a Bronze Star for his efforts in traffic management.

Dale made many moves during his twenty-six years, from bases in the United States to bases in Japan, Korea and Vietnam. He became Senior Enlisted Advisor in Korea and Ellsworth where he reached the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Dale’s awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, AF Commendation Medal w/3 OLC, Joint Meritorious Unit Award Army Commendation medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award w/V and 2 OLC, AF Good Conduct Medal w/3 OLC, Good Conduct Medal w/5 OLC, Army of Occupation Medal, National Defense Service Medal w/1 Bronze Star, Korean Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Stars, AF Longevity Service Award w/4 OLC, AF NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon w/OLC, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, United Nations Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Palm.

After Dale’s retirement in 1977, he began working in auto sales and retired again in 2004. Dale has a son Michael and a daughter, Kathleen. He has been married to his wife Rosa Ignacia since 1999. Dale is a very busy individual and is a life member of every military association available in Rapid City, In 2006, he served as the 3rdVice President of TREA and is an active member of the Honor Guard and the official/unofficial photographer for TREA, Chapter 29.
