Congratulations Russell Salamun!

The 2007 Citizen of the Quarter for April/June 2007 is an individual who gives back to the community in many ways. We are pleased to present this award to Russell Salamun of Rapid City.

Russell has lived in Rapid City for over twenty years and operates his own flooring business. During this time, he has developed a tremendous reputation for his quality workmanship in many of the homes and businesses throughout the Black Hills.

Russell regularly serves at the Cornerstone Mission, providing meals, music and a smile to everyone. For the past ten years, one of the Salamun family traditions is to serve breakfast at the mission each Christmas morning. Russell is active in his church community in various capacities. He and his wife Dalaina, routinely volunteer as EMT’s with the Piedmont Volunteer Fire Department. They spend most of their weekends at the Rosebud Reservation where they also serve as EMT’s.

Russell’s nominator reports that whether it’s playing music, leading youth or making people laugh, he has always found a way to connect with other people. He is an outgoing individual who believes in giving back to his community. Friends and family state that Russell has a positive impact on those he comes in contact with and we congratulate him for this well deserved recognition.
