The May 2004 Citizen of the Month is a team of individuals who stepped up to take the lead in their area during the recent city-wide clean up efforts. We are proud to present this Citizen of the Month award to the Rushmore Mall Management Team for their community spirit.

The Rushmore Mall Management Team for the past two years has led the charge to clean up the area north of Interstate 90 during the annual clean up day activities. The Management Team contacted numerous businesses from Haines Avenue to LaCrosse Street and asked them to participate in this city-wide promotion. They enlisted the support of the Rapid City Police Department Community Police Officers and volunteers from the Cornerstone Mission and Service Management Systems personnel.

The Management Team provides the encouragement for not only the businesses located in and on the mall property but also surrounding property owners to get involved in an effort to put a shine on their area for the coming tourist season. The team was very successful, thanks to the involvement of dozens of individuals who work in this area and take great pride in their community.

We are pleased to present this special award to the Rushmore Mall Management team for their outstanding leadership and commitment to making Rapid City a great place to live.
