Hazardous Materials Team

The Rapid City/Pennington County Hazardous Materials Team is housed at RCDFES Station 6. They are a Regional Response Team and provide Hazardous Materials Response to Rapid City, Pennington County and a number of other Counties in Western South Dakota.

The HazMat Team is made up of RCDFES personnel specially trained in Hazardous Materials mitigation. In addition to Hazardous Materials the Station 6 personnel respond to fire and medical calls as do all RCDFES operations personnel.

The HazMat Team is assisted by the personnel of Station 4 which specializes in Hazardous Materials decontamination. Station 4 personnel are also trained in Hazardous Materials mitigation.
