Agenda Item Summary:
In April the City released a Request for Proposals (RFP) soliciting proposals from qualified firms to develop a parking study and strategic parking plan for the downtown area. This parking study implements a near term recommendation in the Downtown Area Master Plan. It will provide the City with current data and analysis to implement improvements to the parking system and position the City to evaluate opportunities for public private partnerships with public parking components. The scope of work for the study and strategic plan include project coordination, an existing conditions assessment, future parking needs assessment, community outreach, public-private partnership opportunities analysis, and alternatives analysis and plan development. The process is anticipated to take approximately 15 weeks to complete with a final report and deliverables presented to the Council in November of 2017. The Agreement includes complete scope of work and RFP.
