Carriage Hills Place

  • Effective Monday, March 2, 2015, construction crews will be working on Carriage Hills Place to replace the existing water main along with other street reconstruction work.

    Residents should expect delays and periodic street closures.

    This work is expected to be completed by July 1, 2015.

East Mall Drive from Dyess Avenue to East North Street

  • Effective Monday, February 23, 2015, traffic will be reduced to one lane, each direction, on East Mall Drive, from Dyess Avenue to East North Street for private utility work.

    This work is expected to be completed by Monday, March 20, 2015.

Anderson Road North of Longview Road

  • Effective Monday, February 16, 2015. As part of the Twilight Drive and Anderson Road water transmission main extension, Anderson Road north of Longview Road will have limited access for local residences only. There will be heavy haul traffic from Highway 44 to Anderson Road, starting February 16, 2015. Project completion is May 15, 2015 as per the plans issued by the City of Rapid City.

Seger Drive East of 143rd Avenue

  • Effective Monday, February 2, 2015, Seger Drive traffic east of 143rd Avenue will be rerouted onto an adjacent temporary detour road through the portion of the project between Tish Boulevard and Emerson Lane.

    All businesses on Seger Drive are open and accessible from the temporary detour route.

    All Seger Drive traffic will access from the west. No public access will be allowed on Seger Drive from the East.

    Traffic is advised to travel with caution at speeds no greater than 25 mph.

Seger Drive from Dyess Avenue to Emerson Lane and

  • Effective Monday, September 15, 2014, Seger Drive will be closed from Dyess Avenue to Emerson Lane. Access to local businesses inside the closure area will be maintained at all times.

    A detour route has been provided on 143rd Avenue and Country Road back to the north portion of Dyess Avenue.

    Northbound and southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane on Dyess Avenue at Seger Drive.

    Traffic will be maintained with a flagger during daytime hours.

    The speed limit will be reduced to 20 mph through the work zone.

Minuteman Drive from the North Entrance of Horace Mann Park to Anamosa Street

  • Effective Monday, July 28, 2014, Minuteman Drive from the north entrance of Horace Mann Park to Anamosa Street will be closed to traffic.

Mount Rushmore Road Project

  • Effective Tuesday, February 17, 2015
    Phase 1 of the Mount Rushmore Road Reconstruction project that began last fall will restart beginning Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015.
    Work will include installing temporary signal poles and preparatory shoulder work. Outside northbound and southbound lanes will be temporarily closed at times to complete this work beginning the week of Feb. 23, 2015.
     
  • Phase 2a and 2b of the Mount Rushmore Road Reconstruction project will begin Monday, Mar. 2, 2015, weather permitting.
    Traffic control for the Mount Rushmore Road Reconstruction project will be in place starting Tuesday, Feb 17, 2015. Please follow the road signs, pay attention to the speed limit, and travel safely.
