 Auxiliary Program

Rapid City police auxiliary badgeThe Rapid City Police Department Auxiliary Program recruits volunteers from the community to assist the Department. The program seeks to find meaningful work that will prove satisfying for people who volunteer their time providing non-paid police support. Various sections of the Department have identified areas that volunteers can work where their training will be appropriate to the complexity and demands of the position.

In addition, the Auxiliary hosts monthly meetings/social events that build cohesiveness and a sense of belonging.  The group meets the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at the Rushmore Mall substation. If you are interested in becoming a Police Auxiliary volunteer, please contact Captain Doug Thrash at 394-4133.
