The Rapid City Economic Development and Civic Improvement Fund
more commonly known as
Vision 2012
In 1992, the City of Rapid City began the Rapid City Economic Development and Civic Improvement Fund, more commonly known as Vision 2012, a program of long range planning for the future of our community. Building on the progress made following the 1972 flood, the City extended the half cent sales tax by a vote of the citizens, to provide a stable funding source to continue the progress and improve the quality of life for our citizens. Shown below are some of the many projects funded through the Vision 2012 Program. We salute the citizens who had the courage and vision to plan for the future of Rapid City.
