1. How do I get to the airport?
From Interstate 90, take Exit 61 (Elk Vale Road) south to SD 44. Turn right (east) on SD 44. Rapid City Regional Airport is approximately 8 miles on the left (north) about two miles before you reach the village of Caputa.

2. Why can't local telephone numbers to airline ticket counters be given out?
The airline ticket agents are very busy serving customers at the ticket counters and are unable to handle additional telephone calls. For that reason, the airlines request that only their reservation and information telephone numbers be given out to callers.

3. Can I have someone paged?
If you need to page someone during normal business hours you may call the Airport Administration Office at (605) 394-4195.

4. How early should I arrive at the airport before my flight is scheduled to depart?
Because some flights are very full, plan to arrive at the airport about one hour before departure. Remember, if you have special requests or ticket changes and purchases you may need to arrive earlier to allow enough time for parking your vehicle and checking-in with your airline.

5. Is the airport open?
The airport is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for aircraft operations. During inclement weather airport maintenance and operations staff are busy maintaining the airport to keep it open. In the unlikely event the airport does need to close for safety, local television and radio stations will be advised to assist us in making that notification.

6. When is the terminal open?
The terminal is normally open from 4:00am until 12:00am. We do not allow overnight stays inside the terminal.

7. Does the airport have guided tours?
Guided tours of the Airport are offered on a reservation basis only. Please call the Airport Administration Office at least a month in advance to schedule a tour. Tours can be tailored to the age group as well as the time allowed. When calling to schedule your tour please advise us of the age level, size of group, number of chaperones, length of time available, and specific areas you desire to visit.
