General Aviation (GA) is a vital component of our airport. GA is comprised of all aircraft traffic that is not commercial airlines or military aircraft. At Rapid City, General Aviation is comprised of Air Ambulance service, Aerial Mapping, Air Cargo (FedEx, UPS, DHL), Air Mail, Private and Corporate aircraft operations and related businesses. All of which are vital to maintaining Rapid City’s connection to the rest of the world, providing good jobs and most importantly - saving lives. General Aviation accounts for over 65% of all aircraft takeoffs and landings at the Rapid City Regional Airport.
